Soft Spots

This Saturday at Aqueduct is proof in the pudding about spotting a horse in the perfect conditions.

Take a look at Race #8. There is New York bred by the name of Haynesfield. I know, how many solid New York breds make it to the bigger dances?  Not many…

This three-year-old colt by Speightstown could be spotted in the perfect conditions. It is a $100,000 race called The Whirlaway Stakes. They are travelling 8 1/2 furlongs, and this distance fits him to the letter.

He is making his third start off a layoff, and ran against open company last out in the Count Fleet. The double down part of this equation is that he will face only five others. This looks like a sweet soft spot to build a bankroll. There are many purses that lay ahead for this talented colt.

His trainer Steve Asmussen is winning at 33%, and rider Ramon Dominguez is firing at a 22% clip. Add these two together and they win at 45% over the last 60 days. Not a bad total at all if you ask me….

The best part is that you can use WinningPonies.com to max out your exotics and change a Pick 4 into a Pick 3. This makes things a bit easier, and a softer spot is always a good place to land.
