Presidential Effort

On President’s Day, you were given a glimpse of a solid effort. This race was the G-3 Southwest at Oaklawn Park. They were traveling one mile today, and that may be one mile closer to the Kentucky Derby. Only time will tell, and that stands at ten weeks right now.

Larry Jones is the conditioner, and this may his last year in the game. Wouldn’t it be nice to see this classy guy roll out in a limo?

You could call for a drink at the bar, and they would bring you: 2 oz  of bourbon, 2 dashes of Angostura, 1 splash of water, one orange slice, and a Marascino cherry. Or, they could just show you a copy of a runner who has just had his dance card stamped for the Derby.

He has had fantastic breezes and works at Fair Grounds. The time was – 22.2, 45.4, 1:10.4 and a finish up in 1:37.41. It was a good prep. Dominguez reached down low and swung his stick like Paul Bunyon. He made Old Fashioned keep his mind on business, and jump about 12 feet. This guy can sure ride. I haven’t seen a rider who strikes like that since Cordero, Pincay, or Don Brumfield.

The G-3’s help you prepare. This is the time, and this is the place…. He was chased down the lane and drew off with the passion of a special somebody. He had the public behind him at 1-2, and he has my notice from this point forward.
