Leave Him Alone

Scott Lake first appeared on the radar screen for me when he raced at Penn National. He was a bear who won at will. Then the Maryland circuit, and off to the “Big Apple” for this up and coming conditioner.

He has trained for multiple clients for years. He has led North America in wins four times. An Eclipse Award finalist two years is nothing to snuff at, at any time…

He has filed chapter 11 in New York Federal Court, and the rags are descending on him like lunch. He is undergoing reorganization; give him some time and privacy. He has called out that this is invasive and over-the-top. He needs his day in court to get things fixed.

He has $500,000 – $1 million in assets. His liabilities are close to $10 million. He has had advice and action from a friend who stole over $1.2 million from him over 5 years. I know, how could you miss that? Go ahead and try doing what he was doing daily. He racked more frequent miles than ten people.  This good friend also forgot to file a tax report for the last five years.

This is a classless move. Leave him alone…. I guess somewhere in his head he remembers those days of having that stable at Penn National and kicking butt. Don’t worry, he’ll be back… Just give him some time….
