I like free things. Especially those that may make some cash for me…. Gulfstream is open, and WinningPonies is already dialed in to make this a great winter for you. Weather is expected all across the country in the next few days, but the racing is always hot in Florida.

Let us begin in Race #1 – #5 Economic Tsunami (5-2).

This gal has the look of a good thing. She is in the hands of Elvis Trujillo, and he is in the building. Wesley Ward is the trainer, and they team up to win 17% and 67% ITM. She drops in class, and Ward only wins at a mere 52% on this move. Also, a beaten favorite for Ken and Sarah Ramsey last out. Ward comes back to win 28% for them after this happens. She shows sweet early foot, and the drop in class should move her up greatly. I would check her against the tier plays, and if you get 5-2, bet early and often.

Now we head on out to Race #4, and find ourselves looking at #6 Twisted Wit (8-1). Elvis is up once again, and this guy can flat out horseback. Been off for two months for Robert Dibona. This is a 9-year-old gelding coming fresh off a claim. Dibona wins at 24% off this move, and has been an impressive 55% ITM. Some stables do well off the claim, and this looks to be the case. He was 5-wide into the lane at Meadowlands last out, and that was for $7,500. Today, the price is $6,250 and that can make the difference in the game. The barn also does well with shippers, and after a brief vacation, that can be handy. I like his chances at a price, but I am not going in without checking the tier levels. This price is too hot to let him get away by himself, so proceed with caution, and prepare to win at a price.

Race #6 – #5 Sister Resistor (6-1). Kent Desormeaux is in the saddle for Ken McPeek. This gal is 2/2 ITM, and has run on a track taken off the turf at Ellis Park, and a $50,000 stake at Arlington Park. If you like a runner who can run on any surface, that may be the case. I like the trip over the synthetic in Chicago going nine wide at a willing pace. She has been working at Palm Meadows, and has worked at Gulfstream as of late. I love to watch McPeek bring them along ready. Desormeaux makes few mistakes, and she is in good company with The Isabella Angel, and Ms. Vanenzza. I think we have a player here, and Kent can strike at a nice price.
