On Saturday at Keeneland,  there will be some three-year-olds throwing all of their cards on the table, as they have one of the last chances at the run for the roses. It should be a good weekend, and this should be a nice day even with the expected rain.

Keeneland – Thursday 4/8

Race #2 – #1 – entry – #1 / Madman Diaries / 1A / Aroyalsweet (2-1).

Wesley Ward is the trainer, and according to Ben Huffman of Keeneland, he came loaded for bear with his babies. Not much to talk about for firsters, but the dam was 100% with her babies, and with Johnny V and Robby Albarado up, you don’t need too much more in your corner.

Race #5 – #4 – Bramalea – (5-2).

Julien Leparoux in the saddle for Ian Wilkes. Wilkes teams up with the “Frenchman” for a 20% win clip, and 40% ITM. 1/1 at Keeneland, and is second time back off a layoff, where they shoot 41% ITM. Going from a route to a sprint gets them a 24% win, and as a beaten favorite he rolls at 21%. The numbers are strong, and my math teacher said they don’t lie when I was in school as a kid. Gulfstream runners making the turn back, and going from the turf to the poly have done well.  I would look for more improvement.

Race #7 – #1 – Riviera Cocktail – (3-1).

Robby A.  in the saddle for Neil Drysdale. His dam was a stakes winner, and has dropped 4 winners and 4 stakes winners. She has done her job well, and I like the ship-in angle combined with the hot pace that will be provided by Nicanor (Barbaro’s lil’ brother). I like the rail draw to save ground, and I think all things could be go as the sentimental money will be on Nicanor.

Good luck, and start your bankroll for Saturday.
