If you were to pay for this ticket, you would have to come out of pocket in major way. But, thanks to the magic of simulcasting, we have an opportunity to get it on as summer inches closer by the day…

Let us start our trip at: Belmont

9th Race – The G-2 Sheepshead Bay Stakes

A 1 3/8 race on the turf, and I had a tough time coming out with a solid runner. Finally, just like a movie I once saw, it jumped out like an equation on the board. I came out with #7 The Gaillmh Girl. J.J Castellano aboard for Clemente, and they do well on the team up. With the many riders going to Monmouth, there are so many opportunities to pick up good business. Castellano is tough, and on the weeds, he seems to get better, winning at 24%. Second start out of France, and the second time lasix should help the bottom line. She just won a solid effort at Keeneland, and many have gone on to do better coming off of that turf course. She was steadied, and pulled out late to get up at the wire under Leparoux. Her breeding is solid, and I like her. I see J.J. making hay while some others go to Jersey…..

Monmouth

Race #11 – The Elkwood Stakes

#5 Get Stormy is going to rain on this field….Gomez is in the irons, and is 8/12 on the weeds. He exits off a graded run, and should enjoy this drop in class. This may be the first of many for Garrett, as he should run Jersey better than Tony Soprano. I like his overall efforts, and the drop is my selling point. Been away from the races since November, and worked a bullet on May 1st at Belmont. He should be tough on the lead, and if left alone, could be dangerous.

Arlington Park

Race #9 – The American 1,000 Guineas

#7 Queen of the Creek

Jose Lezcano is a great turf rider. I will stand by this no matter where, and just give it time. If you don’t agree, you will see him get some money mounts, as Monmouth will draw other riders. He is in the money 50% of the time, and Thomas Proctor brings his mounts ready. Two for two on the green, and that win at Keeneland could give her needed gas in the tank….

Churchill Downs

Race #10 – The Louisville Handicap G-3

At 6-1, #1 Bearpath on the rail will make Freddie Lenclud look good. Ian Wilkes is the conditioner, and exits the G-2 Elkhorn, and after being shuffled back, he never got into the race. The price makes him attractive, and at 6-1, he will go up….. Lenclud is 35% ITM on the green, and could pull off a victory. You can bet he will be doing his best at this level, and I caught him driving down the lane today. He is looking better, and is worth the play.

Hollywood Park

Race #8 – G-3 Laz Barrera Stakes

#5 Macias catches my eye… David Flores in the saddle, and Bob Baffert would not have him there if he had doubts. I forgive that poor effort on the Keeneland surface, and I feel many will think he is on the downswing. That was a G-3 Transylvania run that ended up poor. Take a look at his record on the synthetic, and you find 3/4 ITM. He did battle with American Lion, and that is not too bad…. I feel he will make a good showing, and Flores is more than capable.

Good luck!
