Belmont Park GrandstandNew York racing is like my birthday and Christmas all tied up into one… Win or lose, I think I will always be a “Big Apple” player…. Here are a few runners to examine for Thursday’s card..

Belmont Park – Thursday

Race #1 – #1 Speedy’s Gal (3-1)

Victor Santiago up for Daniel Donk (22%). Goes from 6f on the weeds to 7 on the grass. Dropping from mdn sp wt to mdn $65,000. Donk has done well with droppers in the maiden ranks, and this should be another. His sibling won the G-3 Polskie Derby in Warsaw…

Race #2 – #4 Camillus Drive (5-1)

Cornelio Velasquez aboard for Linda Rice, and she is the queen of the New York area. 2nd last time out, and goes from mdn 35 to mdn 50k… Speedy gelding by Macho Uno, and they will have to gun him down if they want the prize.

Race #3 – #3 Tarrip (8-5)

Rajiv Maragh has the call, and Clement is the trainer. Goes from 1 3/8  to a 1 1/4. Ran a solid 3rd in a $96 k stakes, and looks to be a solid gal. Her works have not been too swift, but she has the look of a grind-you-down type runner, and they are always dangerous.

Race #8 – #8 Yawkey Way (5-2)

J.J. Castellano up for Chad Brown. 2/2 for this Grand Slam filly. She has the look of a deserving favorite, and the two maintenance works should keep her close to the lead, and in perfect range to pounce on the leaders. I like her today, and if she wins, it will make my day $$$$$.

Good luck!
