It’s a right of racing that each weekend holds very good races this time of year. This weekend is no exception, and we have a few to wet your whistle. Grab up your E-Z Win Forms, and lets get cappin’!

Aqueduct

Race #7 – G-2 Top Flight Handicap – 1  1/16 – 3:38 p.m. ET

#1 – Twice the Lady (5-1) = Cornelio Veaslquez in the saddle for Tony Dutrow (35%). Hard knocking mare stepping up her game and she is 2/2 ITM at the “Big A” 6/6 ITM going this far, and Dutrow had her cranked last out to win by an easy two. Toss in a couple of nice works, and the golden rail may hold a nice player.

Race #9 – The G-3 Tom Fool Handicap – 6f – 4:34 p.m. ET

#10- Smash (7-2) = Irad Ortiz gets his audition for Bob Baffert. Loves sprinting, and has faced better. Makes the poly to dirt move, and Baffert wins 29% with his shippers. He should be forwardly placed, and you can bet he wants to do his best for the barn.

Race #10 – The G-3 Gotham Stakes – 1 1/16 – 5:02 p.m. ET

#11 – Overanalyze (5-2) = John Velasquez up for Todd Pletcher. For better or worse, this is my bet of the day. I will check-in with the E-Z Win Forms to find value underneath, but I like his chances. History has shown that the Derby winner had yet to show his shadow the last five or so years at this time. Oh, and if the outside post bothers you, Hansen scored from the far outside. Drops in class, and cuts back to 1 1/16… The more I talk, the more I like his look. Best of luck finding your nugget of value !

Gulfstream Park

Race #4 – O.C. $75,000 – 1 1/8 – 2:35 p.m. ET

#2 – Doherty (8-5) = Javier Castellano in the irons for Todd Pletcher. Hard to knock him, and this son of Giant’s Causeway is 2/2 ITM at GP. The extra ground will show his class, and I think he will get a solid ride to the winner’s circle.

Race #7 – O.C. $62,500 – 1 3/8 on the turf – 4:05 p.m. ET

#8 – Lucky Chappy (3-1) = Alan Garcia for Graham Motion, and they are making the second start off the layoff. A stone cold closer, and Garcia can be quite a nice turf closer.

Race #9 – G-3 Herecomesthebride – 1 1/8 on the turf – 5:05 p.m. ET

#7 – Kitten’s Point (6-1) = Edgar Prado in the saddle for Graham Motion, and this gal is bred up and down for the weeds. Second time lasix, and that was a sweet run in the Jessamine gave the connections confidence to go to the Breeders’ Cup. If the pace is not extremely slow, look out down the lane.

Race #10 – G-3 Swale Stakes – 7f – 5:35 p.m. ET

#10 – Forty Tales (5-2) = Javier Castellano up for Todd Pletcher, and they should have a good day as a team. Impressive win last out, and this son of Tale of the Cat is a bully. I liked his run down the lane last out, and as the comment line shows, he was full of run!

Santa Anita

Race #5 – $75,000 Baffle Stakes – 6 1/2f on the turf – 5:07 p.m. ET

#5 – Procurement (4-1) = Garrett Gomez up for Thomas Proctor, and he can be the mad-genius of the turf. Off slow last out, and came running like a downhill train. You can bet they will be ready for the day.

Race #6 – G-1 Las Virgenes Stakes – 1 mile – 5:40 p.m. ET

#4 – Speedinthruthecity (12-1) = Joe Talamo for Steve Asmussen, and they have been off for 4 months. Makes the poly to dirt move, and Asmussen doesn’t send runners for no reason. I think he sees promise, and if it is at this level, you will be rewarded. Oh, did I mention they are taking off the blinkers? They win 20% on this move alone…

Race #9 – G-1 Frank E. Kilroe Mile – 1 mile on the turf – 7:16 p.m. ET

#5 – Akkadian (8-1) = Garrett Gomez for Julio Canani, and this tough gelding is a solid closer. I don’t know if he would enjoy softer company, but when good barns make the jump. They feel confident about their chances. Rallied last out, and needs more pace. There should be enough as he makes the trek with some heavy hitters.

Race #10 – G-1 Santa Anita Handicap – 1 1/4 – 7:49 p.m. ET

This race has some star power, and there is some fan fare with two Big Capper’s hooking up to do battle.

#1 – Ron the Greek (5-2) = Jose Lezcano goes to the left coast for Bill Mott. They did the same trek last year in the Florida Millions Classic, and then to California. His last race out has showed he has matured greatly. I loved him then, and he is worth another play from this gambler. Second off the shelf, and draws the rail. If the last race is any indication, I know why Lezcano left Gulfstream for this big mount. I am going to box him up with #9 – Game On Dude, and use the big money tier levels from the E-Z Win Forms to complete my trifecta.

There it is, some food for thought as you make your way through the E-Z Win Forms. Today should be another great day, and before you know it the Derby will be here. So make hay, and moreover plenty of moolah! Best of luck!
