Free Selections / Woodbine/ Sunday 7-7-2013

Woodbine offers up great racing every day, but this Sunday there is a card you will need to give special attention. There are a bevy of stakes to play, and a guaranteed $200,000 late pick-four. Get your E-Z Win Forms in hand, and settle in for an incredible day of Thoroughbred action!

Woodbine

The weather forecast call for a high of 79 degrees, and a 40% chance of storms. You can count on the main synthetic track being fast, but you will want to pay close attention to Mother Nature for the condition of the lush greensward.

Race #3 – The $150,000 Clarendon Stakes – 5 1/2f – 1:23 p.m. ET

#1 – Go Greeley (6-5) = Eurico Rosa DaSilva in the irons for trainer John Ross. They are winning 33% at Woodbine. An impressive maiden winner in May, and I think they have been patiently waiting for this Ontario-Bred race. The morning works have been regular, and this year the rider/trainer have started six times with 4 times ITM.

Race #6 – The (G-2) Dance Smartly – 1 1/8 on the turf – 3:02 p.m. ET

#3 – Northern Passion (6-1) = Shawn Bridgmohan in saddle for Mark Casse, and they come to post with a horse-for-the-course. She is 3/3 ITM at Woodbine, and two of them were wins. It appears this daughter of First Samurai loves the green, and she looks to score on the stretch out in distance.

Race #8 – The (G-3) Singspiel – 1 1/2 on the turf – 4:18 p.m. ET

This race begins the $200,000 guaranteed pick-four

#2 – Forte Dei Marmi (5-2) = Joel Rosario gets the nod for the Roger Attfield barn. He is 3/4 ITM at Woodbine, and exits a bullet work over the course. He comes out of as key trace in the G-2 Dixie at Pimlico where there have been 5 returners and 2 winners. Drops down in class, and goes from Johnny V to Rosario today. I see an up close trip and Rosario’s skills will be felt down the lane.

Race #10 – The (G-1) $1,000,000 Queen’s Plate – 1 1/4 – 5:38 p.m. ET

#2 – Dynamic Sky (4-1) = Joel Rosario in the saddle for Mark Casse, and the barn is coming loaded for bear bringing 4 of the 12 entries. This son of Sky Mesa is 4/4 ITM over the strip, and has the services of one of the best money riders in the world. He is hard-knocking player everywhere he runs, but Woodbine is home. I think this is the Casse runner that gets it done.

The card is incredible, and there is plenty of value to be had. Grab up your E-Z Win Forms and get ready to take down the day!  The weather could be a factor for the turf, and all that you have to do is “click’ the weather tab for a brand new set of E-Z Win Forms. Best of luck, and enjoy the Queen’s Plate card.
