The little track along the Ohio is open for business again. If you have not been before, make it a track to visit during the year. Sometimes good things come in small packages.

The track is not poly, or any of the other synthetic variety. It is a one mile oval, and has one of the best turf courses in the country (according to Laffit Pincay). A handicapping tip you may want to employ is playing runners who come from nearby Turfway Park, and horses making the second start off of a synthetic track. It has held very well for years, and the dates are held during the spring and summer.

For Tues 4/21 at River Downs, go to Race #2,  and take a look at #5  – Lady on a Run. This gal has the services of Yuri Yaranga. He does very well on the Ohio circuits. A California bred trained by Joe Woodard always draws attention at River Downs. It was only a few years ago when Woodard set a record for wins in a meet at Churchill Downs.

This gal sports a 56 speed rating for this race, and 42 for the last three efforts. This daughter of Momentum sports the “has improved” icon in her corner, which shows good things are on the way.  She cuts back from a mile to 5 1/2 furlongs, and ran a game second over a muddy oval last out. Rain is in the forecast, so look for this gal to relish the surface and enjoy her trip to the River.

She is the top selection, and with Beulah and the 7/7 card, you will want to examine your WinningPonies.com data to make the most of your day.

Good luck!
