Saratoga RacingFriday is here, and the heat is raging. I think the racing at The Spa will be hot with value, and the best part is Saturday racing is one day away.

Saratoga – Saturday

Race #1 – #5 Spanish Art (4-1)

J.J Castellano in the irons for Shug. J.J is an 18% winner overall, and when they hit the green, he rolls that average into a 21% clip. A 4-yr-old colt by El Prado, and that sire does well on the turf. Has not raced in 49 days, but do not fear. He runs well fresh, and maybe the vacation did him good. I see that turf runners carry their form much longer, and can come back off of longer layoffs fresh.

Race #2 – #1 D’ Sauvage (2-1)

J.J is up again for John Kimmel. Comes in from Mountaineer two back, and gets first blinkers, and was a beaten favorite last out. 5 1/2 f – 6 panels, and the rail is winning at a 22% rate. Off slow last, and should enjoy the second time at the Spa.

Race #3 – #6 Not Macho Any More (7-2)

Kent Desormeaux in the saddle for Richard Violette (20%). He bats 17% with layoff runners, and this horse has not been to the races for 11 months. A bullet work on 7/31 looks snazzy at 59.4. – Exits the G-3 Sapling in 2009, and ran a sweet second place effort. Drops into alw company today, and is a solid colt. Put on the shelf in good order, and that can be a good sign as the works are coming steady and solid. I think the price will go up, and you will get good value here.

Good luck!
