The “Big Easy” is getting in swing, and they will only get better as the meet goes along. So, we might as well kick it in high gear and enjoy this Louisiana-bred card.

Fair Grounds – Saturday

Race #6 – #4 Superior Storm (6-5)

A gal who loves the course, and is 4/4 ITM. Exits a big win at Delta Downs, and the barn scores 23% off a win. Robby Albarado takes the call, and that moves her up three lengths….. The FG oval has been kind, and I would look to utilize the predictions to find out how to extend this into a multi-race winner.

Race #7 – #3 Take Me Home Too (5-2)

Been off since July 31st. This is a nice L.A. bred, and Brett Calhoun is rolling at 32% a winner at the meet. Joel Campbell is doing fine at a 21% clip for this trainer, and they should show some solid stalking just off the lead. The works show promise, and I think she will be higher than 5-2.

Race #9 – #1 Star Guitar (6-5)

Al Stall has a state-bred killer here, and draws the red-hot rail. Robby A. in the irons, and this runner is 6/8 with wins over the oval. That last race at Delta was a good prep, and made a good late rally. Goes from a mile to 1 1/8th. The added distance and rider change from Campbell to Albarado is welcome. You won’t get much, and you will have to stretch out in exotics to find value. Tune up the band, and the guitar is ready to play!

Race #10 – #11 Tonto Too (8-1)

This gelding broke his maiden at Keeneland. Jeff Thornbury is the trainer, and won going wire to wire on a track that favored stalkers and closers. James Graham stays aboard, and that is a positive sign. They are winning at 15% together this meet. The trip back from Kentucky into state-bred action should be a welcome visit.

Good luck!
