You read it right! Let’s start in Florida, and enjoy the sunshine of Gulfstream and then we will shift our tack out to the left coast for Santa Anita. I like solid weather, and even if it rains, it beats the snow and blustery winds of the mid-west.

Race #7 – The Spectacular Bid – #5 Leave of Absence (5-2)

Rajiv Maragh up for Dick Violette. Been off for over two months, and they win 16% on the rest move. Won his last race, and is a son of Harlan’s Holiday. They paid $145k, and this is not chump change. The last race was under hand urging, and the final 16th was all his. Had a nice work on 1/3, and at Palm Meadows you can relax and come back nicely. Take a look at the solid morning efforts, and your confidence will increase.

Race #9 – The Hal’s Hope – #3 Morning Line (8-5)

Speedy gelding by Tiznow looks to have a bright future. Been resting at Palm Meadows, and this can be the tonic for what ails a runner. Good works, and Johnny Velasquez is up for Zito. J.V passes on the #2 Rule, and he is the go-to-rider on this guy. But, Mr. Pletcher will have to miss his partner, and hope that his runner can beat Morning Line down the lane in the one-turn mile. The numbers of every variety are solid, and the rider choice is a deal maker.

Santa Anita

Race #1 – Tokubetsu (4-5)

Here is a nice builder for your multi-race gimmicks. I hate to leave money on the table, and I won’t pass this one as my key. Bejarano for Baffert, and they hook up at 50% winners. Turns back from 6f to 5 1/2, and the works and connections give me more to run with. I like the team, and I have to dig deep to make the profit margin with a 4/5 shot. He won’t make a good win bet, and if you happen to get 6-5 or better, you can unload…..

Race #7 – The San Pasqual – #1 Aggie Engineer (2-1)

Draws the rail for Talamo, and is 5/6 at Santa Anita. OK, OK….. The poly track was in place, but if you take a peak at those two races when they came off of the turf, this gelding stalked nicely. The rail goes well, and this kid is off to a nice start at 17% a winner. Great work on 1/2, and 1:12.3 on the dirt is a positive sign.

Good luck!
