Hansen is by far the richest horse in the field; he’s stacked up over $1.6 million in earnings, largely due to his win in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile.  Having that win over the Churchill Downs track will be a definite advantage over those who have raced mostly over synthetic surfaces.

The striking light grey colt looks to rebound after he couldn’t hold off a late closing Dullahan in the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes.  If Hansen can sit just behind the leaders as he did in the Gotham Stakes, he’ll have the best chance to win.  But if he is unable to relinquish the lead, the 1 1/4 miles may be out of his reach.
