When I started looking at the weekend races, it brought a big smile to my face. For a horse player it is a cornucopia of action, and just a blink of an eye away. Be sure to get locked and loaded with your E-Z Win Forms as every runner will bring their “A” game to the table. Here is a little sampling of what the E-Z Win Forms have in store for Saturday!

Saratoga

The weather is going to be perfect!  82 degrees, and only a 10% chance of rain.

Race #4 – Mdn Sp Wt – 1 3/16 on the turf – 2:31 p.m. ET

#6 – Unitarian (5-2) = John Velasquez gets the nod for Todd Pletcher.  This son of Pulpit sports the ” Three-Year-Old” facing older tag, and the “Monster Work,” and “First Time Blinkers” icons. If you toggle over Mr. Pletcher’s numbers, you will see that he is a 20% winner, and 43% ITM with this equipment addition. His last three efforts have been against older, and he is showing maturity at a young age. This could be seen in his late kick down the lane his last two races. His Race and Composite Ratings are both 64.  His Turf Rating is a field best 15.1. Going from 1 1/4 to 1 3/16 should offer no problem to his running style. You can bet that Johnny V will have him sitting pretty at the top of the lane.

Race #7 – Alw $87,000 – 1 1/16 on the turf – 4:07 p.m. ET

#5 – Favor Factor (3-1) = J.J. Castellano in the irons for Chad Brown. They have a lightly raced colt by Harlan’s Holiday, and sport the “Moving Up In Class” icon. He has been on the green twice and yielded a win and a second place finish. His Race Rating is a hot 63, and his Composite Rating is 64. I went back and watched his races, and it appears he may have an affinity for the greensward. His Turf Rating is a field best 24.1, and if you take a look at the comment line, you will see there was a bit of trouble in his last effort. Castellano is wining at 25% with Mr. Brown at Saratoga, and a cleaner trip may be in his future switching from Rajiv Maragh to the ultra-talented Castellano.

Race 9 – The G-1 Diana Stakes – 1 1/8 on the turf -5:12 p.m. ET

#2 – Stephanie’s Kitten (8-5) = John Velasquez gets the call for Wayne Catalano for this daughter of Kitten’s Joy. She is making her third start of the year, and this has always been a good angle to follow. Her Race Rating is 61, and her Composite Rating is a 62. If you are a fan of Turf Rating numbers, she sports a field best 53.8. Her last two efforts show she is picking up her game, and last year she won the G-2 Lake Placid going this same distance.

Be sure to check the complete tier levels for maximum value, and always keep in mind that you can change the track condition if Mother Nature gets nasty. The entire card is chock full of great runners, and you’ll want to kick off your Saturday by getting your E-Z Win Forms early. Don’t forget there is great racing at Del Mar, and the Haskell card on Sunday shapes up to be a super day. So what are you waiting for? It’s almost post time!!
