This weekend should rank right behind the Breeders’ Cup for gamblers. If this card does not interest you, the doctor is prescribing ten trips to your local track, and open your ADW account stat! Some of the biggest stars in the game will be in New York this Saturday, and the rest will wait for the opening of Keeneland with Fall Stars weekend. The forecast calls for a high of 75 degrees and partly sunny.

 

Race #5 – The G-1 Beldame Invitational – 1 1/8 – 3:09 p.m. ET

#4 – Royal Delta (3-5) = Mike Smith in the irons for Bill Mott, and this gal owns the “Should Improve” icon. Her Last Race Rating is a field best 57+ and a Composite Rating of 53. She won this race last year by a widening 10 lengths, and has been working very well in the morning. Race #2 begins the pick-four, and this may a solid single for your multi-race wager. The main contender is #2 Princess of Sylmar tossing her hat in the ring, but this is no easy test as she will be facing older runners for the first time. I think it will take more than a good effort, and R.D. is hitting on all cylinders. Be sure to examine all of the tier levels in this race, as Winning Ponies is dialing up some value to make this a sweeter payoff.

 

Race #6 – The G-2 Kelso Handicap – 1 mile – 3:41 p.m. ET

#2 – Greydar (7-5) = Edgar Prado aboard for Todd Pletcher. She owns the “Layoff of 180 Days and Monster Workout” handicapping icons. This daughter of Unbridled’s Song sports a 58+ Last Race Rating and a 58 Composite Rating. Her works over the Belmont training track have been solid, and coming in with fresh legs wins 26% for the barn. She is 5/5 ITM with 4 wins. Lightly raced, and in the right hands this day. I think this test will determine just how high they will set the bar next out.

 

Race #11 – Mdn Sp Wt – 7f on the turf – 6:21 p.m. ET

#11 – Stock Fund (3-1) = J.J. Castellano in the saddle for the get out special. 11/13 ITM on the weeds, and a 22% winning turf rider in the saddle. She has a Last Race Rating of 56, and a Composite Rating of 58. Her 13.4 Turf Class rating is hot, and she stretches out from 5 1/2f – 7 panels. Castellano knows how to win at Belmont (26%) and he has a knack for the greensward.
