The weather forecast calls for a high of 77 degrees, and a 20% chance of rain.

 

Race #5 – O.C. $62,500 – 1 1/16 on the turf – 3:00 p.m. ET

#11 – Hardest Core (7-2) = Luis Saez up for Kiaran McLaughlin, and they are winning 26% in 2013. He owns the ” Dropping in Class, and Layoff of 45 Days” icons. His Last Rating is 62, and Composite is a 61. His Turf Class Rating is a field best 21.4. 4/6 lifetime on the turf, and may prefer the turf to have a firm base.

 

Race #9 – The G-1 Frizette Stakes – one mile – 5:14 p.m. ET

#1 – Sweet Reason (8-5) = Alex Solis for Leah Gyarmati. They are winning 22% together in 2013, and the barn brings a stellar filly by Street Sense to post. 2/2 at Saratoga this summer, and owns a Last Race Rating of 62. The “Monster Workout” icon is in place, and that was solid going 47.4 at Belmont. A solid closer who loves to rush from the back of the pack should enjoy the extra furlong to work with today.

 

Keeneland

The weather calls for a high of 84 degrees, and a 30% chance of rain.

 

Race #5 – The G-3 Woodford – 5 1/2 on the turf – 3:13 p.m. ET

#6 – Stormofthecentury (4-1) = Corey Lanerie in the irons for Louis Ruberto. This son of Dark Kestrel won at Parx last out, and the barn comes back to score at 40% off a win. He owns the ” Has Improved” icon, and his Last Race Rating is 71 with a Composite Rating of 60. His Turf Class Rating is a red-hot 40.9 which is the best in the field.

 

Race #9 – The G-1 Shadwell Mile Turf – one mile on the turf – 5:30 p.m. ET

#10 – Wise Dan (2-5) = John Velasquez in the saddle for Charles LoPresti, and at 2-5 you will hard pressed to find big value. But, there is a $250,000 Guaranteed Pick Four, and this could be your single if you wish. The connections had one plan this year, and that was to keep him undefeated in 2013. So far, so good with that plan. His Last Race Rating and Composite are a pair of 67’s. His Turf Class Rating is a staggering 86.9, and that is by far the best in the field. Let’s see if he can skip over the course and propel himself onto the next round.
