After Breeders’ Cup, there is a shift in the racing world. The winds of spring turn into summer green, and the foliage change that showcases all of natures beauty. The best part about Thoroughbred racing is just when you thought it was over. It circles back for another run. This never ending cycle that has been a part of my internal clock for decades. Once upon a time an older handicapper  told me that racing is measured in 20-minute increments. He never told me why, but when he walked away and I glanced up at the tote board, I saw the 20-minute-to-post clock roll down to 19 minutes. In the meantime, there is some incredible racing this weekend. Here is a free sample of the E-Z Win Forms to get your day started on the right track. So sit back and get ready, it’s almost post time!

Gulfstream Park

The weather forecast calls for a high of 80 degrees, and a 40% chance of rain.

Race #2 – The $150,000 Gulfstream Distaff Preview -1 1/16 – 1:45 p.m. ET

#3 – My Pal Chrissy (6-5) = Jonathon Gonzalez (23%) is in the saddle for Martin Wolfson (26%). She owns the “Layoff of 45 days, and Moving up in Class” icons. She stretches out from 6 1/2f – 1 1/16. Her LRR is 56, and her CR is 57. Both numbers are the best in the field, and she has faced some tough company in her past performances. The rider and trainer are winning 33% at the meet, and it should help the cause having a familiar hand in the reins.

Race #8 – The $125,000 Gulfstream Millions Turf Preview – 1 1/16 – 4:45 p.m. ET

#9 – Silsita (3-1) = Joel Rosario in the irons for Todd Pletcher, and this daughter of Macho Uno looks to be ready to start her winter campaign. In the last year, the rider and trainer have teamed up to win at a 26% clip. She sports the “Dropping in Class, and Has Improved” handicapping banners. Her LRR (Last Race Rating) is a 71, and her CR (Composite Rating)is a 62. The TCR (Turf Class Rating) is a solid 21, and the numbers are very impressive in this field. She is making a second off the layoff move (28%) and was a beaten favorite last out in the Raven Run at Keeneland.

There will be some very nice runners strutting their stuff on this Preview Day card. You’ll want to download the entire card, as Winning Ponies will have your back in being prepared for the card. Everything is in real time, and that means you won’t have to hop from site-to-site looking for information. You will be kept up-to-the-minute with changes, scratches, and track condition updates. The tier levels are color coded and easy to read. There are “Last Race and Composite Ratings” to allow you to measure how the selection has been doing. This will also allow you to better understand where they match-up in the field. If Mother Nature gets nasty, all you have to do is change the track condition tab and you will receive an updated set of E-Z Win Forms.
