All three Retama Park defending champions won in their respective categories as the 32-day fall thoroughbred meeting concluded last weekend.

Danny Pish snared his 11th training title by four victories. Edgar A. Tejera won his fourth consecutive riding championship by six wins. Anjo Stable was the leading owner by two triumphs.

Pish saddled 23 winners in 127 races, banking the most cash — $255,888. M. Brent Davidson was the runner-up with 19 victories in 80 outings while his horses earned $160,354.

Andrew Konkoly was third scoring 13 times in 37 races. He was tops with 35 percent winners and 73 percent in the money finishes.

Jerenesto Torrez was fourth with 11 victories, one more than J. R. Caldwell. Cash Asmussen saddled 9 winners and was runner-up with 30 percent winners while 70 percent of his 30 horses hitting the board also put him second in that area.

Tejera captured his fourth consecutive riding crown with 36 triumphs in 197 races, earning a leading $353,222. Jorge Guzman was aboard 30 winners on the same number of mounts.

Larry Taylor was third with 26 victories, boasting a leading 20 percent winners while his runners earned $272,632. That was one score better than Junior Chacaltana.

Tied with 21 scores each were Paul M. Nolan and Jeremy Collier whose horses hit the board a leading 55 percent.

Anjo Stable was the top owner with 10 wins while its 23 horses banked a leading $105,943. Colleen Davidson had 8 winners, two more than Caldwell.

The track enjoyed fairly attendance figures that exceeded 4,500 on 10 evenings, mostly because of the 50-Cent Nights that included free admission.

The most fans turned out on Sept. 26 – 7,209. The highest on-track pari-mutuels handle came on Aug. 29 — $150,285.
