Disco Downs

Churchill took a trip in the time machine. They went back to the 70’s, and what a trip it was…..I wish I could have been there, and I think my wardrobe would probably still fit in. The only problem, could I fit into my duds?

CD is cool. They have lights and parties, and have changed in this ever popular climate. No more old days…Well, maybe…

People dressed up, and the jams greeted you at the gates. It was the wild seventies, and all you had to do was have an open mind. The groove was on, and all you had to do was get down to picking winners. That part is timeless. I still want to cash no matter what decade it is…

CD has taken the game to new limits. The price of poker has gone up, and you have to keep the players entertained. The days when you opened the doors and they came are long gone… They are farther out than lime green riser boots… You have to use your facility to the max. It must be an entertainment destination that must be music, good eats, and the best offering of wagering. It is tough, but if you want to make the cut, you have to be in the mix.

I heard the weather was hot, and so was the crowd. They didn’t bet much, but you had an opportunity to showcase your facility. They will remember the fun they had when the wig was on, and danced under the new lights as the ponies rumbled around the track. What more could you ask for?

Churchill has figured out what makes it click. I know there are other tracks that do well, that have picked up the bit and ran down the lane to success. But, the “old boys club” has changed its colors. I love the way they dumped the NTRA, and now they will dance to their own tune. Last week it was 10cc, and next week they are going to be taking it to the next level. So, just keep your eyes on the Spires. They have morphed into an entertainment machine, and I think it just may work….
