RIVETAGE tracked in the two-path in second position behind the early pacesetter, ramped up the pressure leaving the half-mile marker, took command of the front end approaching the quarter pole, and finished strong under steady handling to win clear despite drifting out in the final yards. AMBIGUOUS tucked into a good spot along the rail behind the early pace, angled out four-wide late on the far turn, then rallied to gain the place. UPTOWN TAPPIN vied four-wide for the lead into the first turn, backed off to a tracking position down the backstretch, moved closer on the turn, then made a three-wide bid for the lead into the stretch but flattened out a bit late. SINGING DIXIE lacked early speed, saved ground to the far turn, then made a belated rally to improve. CURLINS INCHARGE tracked close up three-wide, then came up empty in the stretch. FLYING TEX broke sharply and was first into the clubhouse turn, was left to dictate moderate fractions to the half-mile mark, tried to fight back when confronted by RIVETAGE, came under urging late on the far turn, and finished on good courage but tired from earlier efforts. HASKELLED hopped at the start, settled near the back of the pack through the early running, was in range of the leaders but three-wide down the backstretch, then did not respond when asked to kick on early on the far turn and went one-paced through the lane. KING OF GRACE lost the path and took up after the start, was then slow to begin, and trailed far behind for the first half-mile, finally regained contact with the field approaching the quarter pole, but could not sustain the bid through the final furlong. CLEMENTS RIDE raced five-wide and was never a factor.

OCELOT , got the better of that one by mid-stretch but could not hold off the late charge of the winner. FORT HOOD vied inside for the early lead, put a head in front past the five-surlong pole, went a length clear passing the half, turned back all challengers at the quarter pole, went clear into the stretch, and finished up well but was overtaken in the final yards.
