Everyone likes apples…. Especially those that come from “The Big Apple.” Aqueduct is still rolling on, and this card caught my eye. I watch the circuit daily, and these need a hard look before going to the windows.
Aqueduct
Race #2 – #5 – Gracious Victory (9-5).
David Cohen has the call, and he is starting to be a real go-to-guy around the country. Just give him time…. Today, he rides for Sydney Dutrow. They are both rolling at 23%, and that is some good cooking.
3rd off the layoff, and drops into conditioned company. This is a solid filly, and she is 2/2 ITM in 2010. At the big glance, this looks to be an excellent exit from New York, before heading back to Philly and Delaware Park. I would venture with confidence.
Race #3 – #3 – Volare Cantare (5-2).
Dominguez has the call today for Anthony Dutrow. Both are winning at 29%, and together they roll at 33% and 67% ITM. Ships in from Ocala Training Center races, and that is poly track. I think this may have tightened her up, and if you go back two races, she scored by 12 lengths. Go back 3 races and when she was a maiden, they entered her in a $180,000 stake at Monmouth. She has been working well at Palm Meadows, and I see a blistering effort on the hook today.
Race #5 – #5 – Dorian Will (5-2).
Dominguez is in the saddle for Kiaran McLaughlin. He is training at 28%, and they team up to win 50% and 60% ITM. Comes in the red-hot Pletcher barn, and they win at 15% on this move.
Beaten favorite last out, and that yields a 35% win clip. 3/3 at AQU ITM, and the jock change from Jara to Dominguez seals the deal. I would look for a stalking trip, and enjoy the price if it hovers around 5-2.
Good luck!
