Monday in the “Big Easy” should be a rainy day. It was nasty last night, and Delta even had an ugly track. I think Noah should head on down and start on the Ark….. But, before we make other plans, how about some winners at FG?

Fair Grounds – Monday

Race #1 – #3 Howiteel (2-1)

Joel Campbell in the irons, and Eric Heitzman is the conditioner (19%). 1/1 at FG, and appears to enjoy the off-going. Rain is expected, and the 3rd time off of the layoff is a play for me. Was way over her head last out, and should enjoy this level.

Race #2 – #4 Boltronic (8-5)

Bridgmohan in the saddle for Asmussen (21%), and is bred to enjoy the off-going. A beaten favorite last time, and layoff yields winners from this barn at 21%. He was off since November 2009 before his last effort, and this barn would not send one out that is not ready.

Race #6 – #2 Mobeetie (6-1)

Jesse Campbell in the driver’s seat for Heitzman, and they team up pretty good at a 19% clip. 1/2 ITM at FG, and his last effort was against Wilkinson and Pants on Fire in the Lecomte. Go back one race prior, and it was in the slop and had a brutal trip being bumped at the break and going 5 wide at the 1/4 pole. I see a good effort at a solid price.

The predictions haven’t changed, and can always be counted on for solid guidance. So, get an umbrella and make like a duck! Enjoy your day, and let’s kick off the week with a bang…
