There are about a thousand reasons gamblers win or lose. If you don’t believe me just ask them. – As we approach the holy of holy weekends for horseplayers there is mental flossing that must take place. You know, start doing last-minute homework and watching replays. When they conduct the post position draw today things will start making sense. The first big day of races takes place on Friday and it only gives you three days of final handicapping. – Think of it as last-minute Christmas shopping where all the big sales deals are disguised as excellent betting opportunities.

The two-hour program will air from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. ET tonight on TVG and at TVG.com. Coverage will begin with TVG hosts Gabby Gaudet and Scott Hazelton live from Santa Anita. The post-position draw will be hosted by Britney Eurton, Laffit Pincay III, and Nick Luck

There will be some defectors in these final days. – I’m not sure why it happens, but it always does. We just hope it’s not our big horse we were going to drop a big betting bomb. – Keep an open mind these next few days. Pay close attention to their last race and works leading up to the big weekend.

Stick to your knitting. – If you love to play pick-six wagers, go for it. If you never play any, go ahead and leave this one off your wagering plans. There are so many times we find ourselves playing wagers just because they have a big pool. Just pass. If it’s not in your usual plans go ahead and wager on bets that are more your comfort zone.

There will be races that are sure to fit everyone’s liking. If not, you may need to take a little better look. Great value, big fields, and everyone bring their “A” game. – Here are the races they will be drawing for tonight:

Friday, Nov. 1 – “Future Stars Friday”

$1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint
$1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf
$2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies
$1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf

After seeing the races taking shape. Take each race one at a time. – Take a look at the competition and start a “toss out” list if you don’t like a runner. After you complete this first step you’ll start seeing the process take shape.

You’ll want to tune into the Winning Ponies Internet Show this Thursday at 8:00 pm. – You can access the show on the website with John Engelhardt as he will have some of the best handicappers talking Breeders’ Cup. – After hearing who looks good, you want to download your Winning Ponies E-Z Forms.
