I’ve had the pleasure of calling almost 5,000 races in my six of seven years at Belterra Park. – I had to take a season off for a medical issue, but I’m back in action. I watch every horse break from the gate and make notes for who to watch next time out. – With that in mind, here are some free selections from the “birds-eye” view in the Crow’s Nest. – Best of luck my friends!

Race#1 – #5 – Prince Maior = Sonny Leon is two wins away from career win#600. 3rd off the layoff move and was a beaten chalk last out where they come back to win 33%.

Race#2 – #4  Jerrid = He’s been knocking on the door and his dam was a stakes winner with 9 starters and 7 winners.

Race#3 – #4 – Henry Mac = Ships back from Cleveland and takes a drop in class today. He should get a good stalking trip from a talented barn that brings them ready to win.

Race#4 – #5 -Maxi Moon = Goes from a route to a sprint for Edwin Vizzcarrondo who is winning at 27% for the meet. They win 24% with claimers overall.

Race#5 – #6 – Samurai Saint = Alete runner who drops down the class ladder and is 2/3 ITM at Belterra. – The barn scores 38% with claimers.

Race#6 – #4 -Loot the Moon =  Ships in from Chicago dropping down two class levels. Chase Miller has proven a solid apprentice rider and has a bright future. Goes from turf to dirt and cuts back to a sprint for his father Darrin Miller.

Race#7 – #9-Slightly Sassy =Susan Anderson trainee and adds blinkers back today where they win 33%. Luis Colon is in the irons and I think we’re going to hear good things moving forward from this rider.

Race#8 – #3- Smooth Current = Swift early speed and makes a rider change to the aggressively talented Frank Reyes.

Belterra is located outside of Cincinnati and still has many of the charms from River Downs. Not exactly, but the view of the Ohio River and the rolling hills of Kentucky never get old. – Make a trip if you can and if not, just enjoy a day of racing action. – Best of luck my friends from Winning Ponies!
