Opening day at Keeneland is special. For race fans it’s like your birthday, and Christmas all rolled into one big gift. The Fall Stars weekend kicks off, and what a weekend it should be. Last year, Winning Ponies was dialed in on the Keeneland meet, and we hope you join us as we make our way to the windows. Here is a sampling of the opening day E-Z Win Forms to kick off the meet in fine fashion!

Keeneland

The weather forecast calls for a high of 84 degrees and a 20% chance of rain.

Race #5 – Mdn Sp Wt – 1 1/8 – 3:13 p.m. ET

#2 – Chocolate Ride (5-2) = Eurico Rosa DaSilva in the irons for trainer Mark Casse. This son of Candy Ride was off slow and came rolling late at Woodbine. He stretches out from 7f – 1 1/8, and owns the “Monster Workout, Should Improve, and Three-Year-Old” icons. The last work was blistering, and Casse wins with 22% of his runners going sprint to a route. His Last Race Rating and Composite Rating are 53+ and 53 respectively. They are both field best numbers, and the added ground may be what the doctor ordered.

Race #7 – Alw $58,000 – 1 1/16 on the turf – 4:17 p.m. ET

#4 – I’ll Call (5-2) = Edgar Prado in the saddle for Graham Motion. A beaten favorite last out at Penn National, and the barn comes back to score 57% ITM with runners on this note. This son of Smart Strike should be up near the front runners, and make a move as they hit the far turn. His Last Race and Composite Ratings are field best with a 67 and 63 respectively. He broke his maiden impressively at Keeneland last April, and that is a big plus in his corner for a repeat winner’s circle visit.

Race #8 – The G-3 Phoenix Stakes – 6f – 4:49 p.m. ET

#6 – Laugh Track (12-1) = Miguel Mena aboard for Mark Casse. Exits off a win in the G-3 Vigil Stakes at Woodbine, but was disqualified to 4th. Casse comes back to score 21% with repeat winners, and he owns the “Monster Workout and Layoff of 180 Days” icons. He is 5/5 ITM over synthetic tracks and won at Keeneland last April. This son of Distorted Humor owns a 61 Last Race Rating and Composite Rating. He cuts back in distance, and should be running late around the final turn.

You will want to download the entire E-Z Win Form as there are a bevy of races that offer value galore. There will be a $200,000 TVG pick-four every Friday, and the best of the best bring their runners to Lexington. As always, weather may become a factor and you can always change up your selections with a “click” of the track condition tab. Everything is in real time, and you will receive changes, scratches, and information as it happens. No more jumping from site to site looking for information. Winning Ponies is your one-stop-shop for all of your racing needs. Best of luck this meet, and be sure to check back for stories, blogs, and free selections all meet long!
