Mother Nature is getting into full swing, but we are heading south to dodge the snow, and sleet. Winning Ponies is going to focus on Fair Grounds and Gulfstream, and we’ll give you a few races on the house. The E-Z Win Forms have been red-hot winning $10,177,959 in 2013. Be sure to download the entire card as there is plenty of action to make your day a winner !

Fair Grounds

The weather calls for 52 degrees and partly sunny.

Race #6 – O.C. Claiming $16,000 – 1 1/16 on the turf – 4:23 p.m. ET

#8 – Clemente Rock (8-1) = Shawn Bridgmohan in the saddle for Mike Maker, and he sports the “Moving up in Class, and Off 45 Days icons.” This son of Strong Hope owns a 17.8 Turf Class Rating, and 58 Last Race Rating with a 60 Composite Rating. He has the ability to come from off the pace, and should give an honest effort in this heat.

Race #8 – Alw $64,000 – 1 mile on turf – 5:23 p.m. ET

#3 – Saturday N The Park (6-1) = Robby Alabarado in the irons for William Heffner. This daughter of Any Given Saturday owns the ” Should Improve and Moving up in Class icons.” She sports a 25.4 TCR, and a 62+ LRR. She makes the dirt to turf move, and the barn wins 22% on this change. The move back to the greensward should help as she is 1/1 on the sod.

Gulfstream Park

The weather calls for 63 degrees and a 40% chance of showers.

Race #6 – O.C. $75,000 – 1 mile – 3:05 p.m. ET

#7 – Prudhoe Bay (5-1) = Paco Lopez (30%) gets the nod from Eddie Plesa, and they are winning at a 39% clip at GP. This son of Songandaprayer has the “Moving up in Class” icon and was an impressive winner in his maiden debut. He sports a pair of 55’s for his LRR and CR, and stretches out from 5 1/2f to a mile where the barn wins 15% going from a sprint to a route.

Race #9 – O.C. $75,000 – 6f – 4:43 p.m. ET

#11 – Benny’s Bombshell (6-1) = Jesus Castanon picks up the mount for Jason Cook, and this two-year-old daughter of Benny the Bull was impressive in her maiden by over 18 lengths over a muddy track at Mountaineer. She gets an extra half furlong today, and owns the “Moving up in Class” icon and a 57 LRR. She wired the field in strong fashion her only time out, and with rain in the forecast there is a good chance she may see a soft track to run. Castanon can break them from the gate, and if the last race is any indication we may be looking at two-in-a-row.
