It is less than one month away and we’ll be watching and wagering on the best races of the year. – You can never start too soon, and it is one weekend where you’ll wish you did more homework. – With this in mind start the process right here.

Go back over the entire weekend and focus on these races to begin:

Belmont / Saturday

G-3 Matron

G-1 Joe Hirsch Turf

G-1 Champagne

Belmont / Sunday

G-3 Futurity

G-1 Flower Bowl

G-1 – Frizette

Keeneland / Saturday

G-2 Woodford

G-2 TCA Stakes

G-1 First Lady

G-1 Breeders’ Futurity

G-1 Shadwell Turf

Kee / Sunday

G-3 Dixiana

G-3 Bourbon

G-1 Spinster

Longchamp (France) / Sunday

Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe

Prix de l’ Opera

Go back and watch these races on YouTube or if you have access to an ADW account. – Watching the races will give you a solid foundation as you make your way backward. – Starting with these races will give you the most recent players who qualified for the “Win and You’re In” prize for the starting gate at Santa Anita for Breeders’ Cup.

As you observe the weeks progressing to the big weekend you’ll want to peruse back and refresh your memory for horses that qualified a long time ago. – Any handicapper worth their weight will tell you that watching past races can give you the best place to start. – Why did I choose this weekend? The races were incredible, they have played a major role in key preps for events, and the timing is perfect for getting your horse ready and having just the right amount of time to head into the Breeders’ Cup.

Best of luck as you start your process and be sure to check back as I’ll be breaking down contenders for every Breeders’ Cup event! – May your winners be many and your photos few.
